
CAD Standards and Systems Engineer

- Develop and maintain CAD standards, procedures, templates, and documentation.
- Manage and maintain CAD software, licenses, updates, and integration with other systems (e.g., BIM, PLM).
- Maintain and improve documentation such as CAD drawings, schematics, BOMs, and technical specifications.
- Provide technical support to CAD users across departments and resolve software/hardware issues.
- Train and mentor CAD technicians, designers, and engineers on best practices and software usage.
- Coordinate with project managers and engineers to ensure CAD deliverables meet project timelines and quality standards.
- Evaluate and recommend new CAD tools and technologies to improve workflow and productivity.
- Manage CAD file storage, version control, and backup strategies.
- Conduct regular audits and quality control checks on CAD drawings and models.
- Collaborate with IT and other departments to optimize the performance of CAD infrastructure.
- Support digital transformation initiatives and integration with other design/engineering systems.
- Coordinate with Central Engineering to ensure drawings align with factory standards.
- Develop plan to align multiple drawing standards into a single company standards.
- Manage 3rd Party CAD / Engineering services as needed to support peak workload times.
- Chair Engineering Change Control Board.
- Manage engineering change orders (ECOs) and documentation updates for existing products.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Drafting Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of CAD experience
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, MicroStation, or others relevant to your industry).
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Problem-solving mindset with a continuous improvement approach.
- Knowledge of GD&T, SPC, or FMEA.
- Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
- Experience with Autodesk Inventor a plus.
