
Sr Manufacturing Engineer

- Design, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes to improve productivity, quality, and cost efficiency.
- Be a business partner with operations leader and oversee implementation of shop floor improvement projects and document progress.
- Lead cross-functional projects to introduce new products and processes into manufacturing (NPI/NPD).
- Analyze workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout to establish lean manufacturing systems.
- Evaluate and implement new equipment, tooling, and technologies to enhance manufacturing capabilities.
- Develop and maintain detailed work instructions, process documentation, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality issues using tools like 8D, FMEA, and Six Sigma.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing tools (Kaizen, 5S, value stream mapping).
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers and production teams.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
- Monitor and report on manufacturing performance metrics (OEE, yield, cycle time, scrap rate).
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- 5–10+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering or process engineering roles.
- High Mix / Low Volume Batch Build processes preferred.
- Proven experience in process design, production optimization, and new product introduction (NPI).
- Experience managing and implementing CAPEX projects.
- Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and quality systems (ISO 9001, AS9100, etc.).
- Knowledge of GD&T, SPC, or pFMEA.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and manufacturing simulation tools.
- Hands-on experience with fabrication equipment and processes.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams.
- Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., Six Sigma Black Belt, PMP, Lean Certification).
- Experience in material handling equipment a plus.
- Hands-on experience with CNC machining, automation, or PLC programming a plus.
- ERP/MRP system knowledge (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
