- Building in Quality Control for Engineering processes and deliverables. Develop and implement strategies to maintain and improve the quality of engineering processes, products, and services.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Design and execute comprehensive training programs for engineering staff to enhance their skills, knowledge, and competencies.
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation, including manuals, guidelines, and standard operating procedures (SOPs), to support engineering activities.
- Ensure that documentation is up-to-date, accurate, and accessible to relevant stakeholders.
- Provide guidance and support to engineers in following established procedures and best practices.
- Establish a culture of continuous improvement and mechanisms to promote mentoring of associates across the Engineering department.
- Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of engineering processes.
- Analyze data and metrics to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.
- Generate regular reports and presentations to communicate performance metrics and insights to senior management.
- Work closely with engineering teams to develop action plans and initiatives to address performance gaps and optimize processes.
- Create and regularly review and update Parts Library to reflect changes in product designs and manufacturing processes.
- Support engineering by providing expertise, resources, and guidance for a range of engineering software tools, including but not limited to AutoCAD, Inventor, Revit, AutoCAD Electrical, Navisworks, BIM, and custom add-ons tailored to enhance functionality within these platforms.
- Foster effective communication of innovative concepts and serve as a catalyst for driving transformative change within the engineering department.
- Engineering Bachelors degree (or similar engineering program) from an accredited college with 6+ years of relevant experience, or 2-year degree from an accredited college with 8+ years of relevant experience
- Material Handling and Conveyor experience preferred
- Ability to work effectively on a team and support high levels of performance
- Strong management and advanced collaboration and communication skills (written and verbal communication)
- Experience with Engineering Software Tools
- Programming skills and experience preferred
- Proficient Parametric and Horizontal-Style modeling preferred
- Experience working with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Experience in standard design of relevant material handling equipment for position
- Ability to self-motivate
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, time management and problem-solving skills
- Ability to travel
- Valid driver’s license and able to rent a car without a co-renter.
- Ability to perform essential functions of the job
- 6 years experience in the conveyor and/or material handling industry
- Bachelors degree (or similar engineering program) from an accredited college
- Ability to walk, kneel, crouch and balance frequently
- Ability to climb, ascending or descending ladders, stairs, ramps, etc., using feet, legs and/or hands and arms frequently
- Ability to lift, push or pull up to 75lbs occasionally
- Ability to sit/stand frequently for long and/or intermittent periods of time
- Time spent between general office environment (with normal sitting, standing and minimal, nominal lifting) and active construction site visits
- Time spent on active job sites includes subject to noise, being in close proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical power and control systems, and high places
- Personal Protective Equipment required at active job sites
