- Develop and implement control strategies for new and existing systems.
- Design and program PLC and HMI systems for automated equipment and processes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with control systems and instrumentation.
- Support commissioning, testing, and validation of control systems.
- Maintain documentation including schematics, wiring diagrams, and software code.
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to integrate automation solutions.
- Design, implement and support automation projects to improve safety, productivity and quality
- Specify and quote new equipment to support new product development and existing production lines
- Integrate, runoff and implement new equipment to support new product development and existing production lines
- Collaborate with new product development teams to evaluate automation opportunities in design phase
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, industry regulations, and company policies.
- Continuously evaluate and improve system performance and reliability.
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements in manufacturing technology.
- Support manufacturing ramp-up through troubleshooting and effective problem-solving
- Drive yield and manufacturability improvements while maintaining quality and safety standards
- Design and 3D model mechanical systems to be integrated into automation solutions.
- Design and implement tooling for manufacturing equipment in support of machine development.
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related field or 5+ years experience in automation or controls.
- 3+ years of experience in industrial automation and controls engineering.
- Demonstrated experience programming PLCs and HMIs in new equipment applications. Allen Bradley/Rockwell preferred.
- Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus).
- Familiarity with electrical schematics, panel design, and instrumentation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Experience in a manufacturing or process automation environment.
- 3D Modeling experience.
- Knowledge of robotics, motion control, or vision systems.
- Familiarity with Industry 4.0 and IoT technologies.
- Experience with Pneumatics, hydraulics, and other motion control methods
- Proficiency in PLC programming (Allen-Bradley preferred).
