
Manufacturing Engineer Technician - Off Shift

- Support Product Line manufacturing by investigating and resolving product, process, or equipment issues in a thorough and timely manner
- Provide daily oversight and support to areas in the factory where associates are in training
- Provide direct training in areas of expertise
- Investigate and create rework plans for discrepant products
- Stops production and escalates safety, quality, or productivity issues as needed
- Determine tooling needs for production and procure small tools and equipment as needed
- Create and maintain process documentation and work instructions
- Conduct time studies and create standard work playbooks to ensure effective and efficient production
- Develop training plans for Associates and audit implementation of those training plans
- Evaluates effectiveness of Training Plans for specific role, suggests and implements improvements to existing Training Plan documents
- Schedules Training Plan signoffs and audit steps with Quality Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, or Manufacturing Manager
- Schedules weekly training progress meetings with Trainee, Trainer, Manufacturing Manager, Quality Engineer, and Manufacturing Engineer.
- Conduct audits of cells, individuals, or products to assess compliance to documented processes
- Conduct safety audits and implement countermeasures for safety issues
- Coordinate the installation and start-up of replacement production equipment
- Participate in Kaizen events
- Must have a strong problem-solving mindset and a demonstrated desire to drive to root cause for solutions
- Needs a desire to learn and grow their skill set, as well as an appreciation for sharing their knowledge
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- A proven ability to interact with people at all skill levels and functions
- 3 years’ minimum in a production environment
- Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team or independently with minimal oversight
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office products
- Solid attendance record
- Associate degree or applicable technical training
- 5 years’ minimum experience in a production of electric motor components
- Process experience in a minimum of 3 of the major (cell level) process used in the production of electric motor components
- Experience working in a Lean Production environment or using the following tools:
- 6-sigma
- Single piece flow
- Variation reduction
- Standard work
- Value stream mapping
- 5s
