$50MM) and ~500,000 BBLs of domestic shipments . This position supports Marketing, Plant Operations, and IPL in forecasting, inventory, production planning, and execution of marine movements. This position is responsible for arranging barge and ocean vessels transportation, executing product movements and scheduling with 3rd party companies such as bulk terminals and surveyors. Builds relationships and trust with customers, suppliers, and service providers as a source of market information to provide insight to Senior ManagementKey AccountabilitiesSupport optimizing marine logistics operations. Understand and communicate cost-to serve. Receives bulk International/Marine customer orders, makes knowledgeable commitments, and accurately enters the orders into SAP (Exports, Inbound/Outbound, Bulk & Packaged). Manage vessel nominations, confirmations and scheduling via Sasol approved service suppliers. Manages marine transportation partners and the third-party inspection service companies to ensure they follow operating guidelines and meet established performance standards. Works proactively with customers, plants, ex-plant locations, forwarders, ship brokers, shipowners, ship agents, and Sasol coworkers, ensures on-time delivery of product with accurate documents, and resolves discrepancies. Manages inventory levels at assigned ex-plant locations and reconciles monthly in SAP. Supports month-end closing (order transaction completion/invoicing). Provide back up support to others in the Marine group. Negotiates spot barge rates and equipment as needed. Comply with the Quality Management System requirements and take prompt and appropriate action to respond to non-conformances and prevent reoccurrence. Coordination of P66 dock schedule. Ensure all marine related invoices and monthly billing are processed as per agreed rates in SAP. Support for Kerosene and MEG barge moves managed by Strategic Sourcing. Responsible for demurrage analysis for marine shipments. Assist on Product Commercialization and any required set up in SAP. Screen Vessel and Barges through external Vetting systems. Assist in commercial matters with sales, logistics, treasury, inventory and reports for USA and global regions. Monitor shortage and overages received over tank in overseas and process them according to customer's contract. Assist Marine Procurement Manager and Marine Manager with annual vendor contract renewals.Formal Education
- University Bachelors Degree
- 5+ years of industry related marine logistics experience
- Ability to interact professionally with Customer Service, Sales & Marketing, IPL, Plant Operations, SHE, Accounting, Treasury, Ex-Plant Locations, Freight Forwarders, Marine and related Carriers, Purchasing, Sasol affiliates
- International shipping -coordinate with Sasol international offices in South America, Japan, Germany, Italy and Brazil
- SAP Knowledge
- Must have strong/professional communication, attention to detail, ability to multi-task and organizational skills
- Have a strong work ethic
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability and willingness to work in intercultural environment
- Good software skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Must be able to provide after hours and weekend coverage as required
