Position DescriptionAs a Software Asset Management Analyst, you will be responsible for working within the framework of a team and performing the Software Asset Management (SAM) function with respect to cost, control, compliance, and business objectives. Serves as a knowledgeable resource in software licensing matters. Analyze IT vendor contracts and license terms and conditions. Engage with IT and non-IT team members to oversee the procurement and management of software assets and contracts . Manage and extend the scope and quality of license data. Leverage licensing information to improve software compliance reporting capabilities; review and improve software discovery tools/data collection. Support software compliance audits and other projects. Promote and contribute to continuous improvement and best practices.
- Understand contracts and related documents to capture entitlements and essential terms.
- Identify opportunities to optimize utilizing existing contract, license and maintenance data and including competing products and harvesting existing software.
- Serve as a knowledgeable resource for Software Asset Management (SAM) tools and software asset repository; support and perform configurations, dashboards, reports, and underlying data model from discovery tools.
- Conduct software compliance reviews and true-ups; monitor for compliance risk and savings opportunities.
- Modify and upgrade SAM (Software Asset Management) policies; maintain processes for entitlement and deployment capture and inventory .
- Manage cross-team project tasks and deliverables of SAM processes.
- Prepare required licensing and optimization information and documentation (e.g.,effective license position) for negotiation and execution of agreements.
- Coordinate efforts to review and procure enterprise software assets.
- Provide day to day support of license/software assets management and ensure requests are being fulfilled.
- Work with various teams within IT to provide financial data for budgeting, cost allocations and invoicing; perform product/services cost-benefit analyses .
- Work with supporting IT groups on troubleshooting and resolving licensing-related issues.
- Communicate with management on the software license estate and effective license positions.
