- Manage and maintain Microsoft SQL Server instances across on-premises and cloud environments.
- Monitor and optimize database performance; troubleshoot and resolve performance issues.
- Implement and maintain high availability (HA), disaster recovery (DR), and security protocols.
- Plan and execute database upgrades, patches, and migrations.
- Develop and manage backup and recovery strategies aligned with RPO and RTO requirements.
- Conduct regular data integrity checks and restore testing.
- Enforce data security through encryption, access control, and auditing.
- Use tools such as SQL Server Profiler, Extended Events, and third-party monitoring solutions to proactively monitor database health.
- Identify and resolve bottlenecks, deadlocks, and long-running queries.
- Design and develop database objects including stored procedures, views, triggers, and functions.
- Collaborate with development teams to optimize database schemas and queries.
- Automate administrative tasks using PowerShell, T-SQL, or other scripting tools.
- Manage and optimize SQL Server databases hosted on AWS RDS.
- Support the migration of on-premises databases to cloud platforms like AWS RDS.
- Experience: 7+ years of hands-on experience as a Microsoft SQL Server Administrator.
- Database Administration: Deep expertise in SQL Server administration, performance tuning, backup/recovery, and security.
- HA/DR: Strong understanding of SQL Server HA/DR solutions (e.g., AlwaysOn, Mirroring, Log Shipping).
- Development Skills: Proficient in T-SQL and experienced in developing stored procedures and other SQL components.
- Scripting: Experience with PowerShell or similar scripting tools.
- Cloud Knowledge: Familiarity with AWS RDS or other cloud database services (preferred).
- Microsoft certifications (e.g., MCSA, MCSE) in SQL Server.
- Experience with AWS cloud platforms.
- Hands-on experience migrating databases to cloud environments.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines for database deployments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently.
