Within M&O is the Mainframe Program Operations team. The Operations team is responsible for assessing and providing technical support for the agency's mainframe applications.About the RoleAs the Mainframe Security Administrator, you'll play a key role in protecting mission-critical systems that support workers' compensation programs. You will maintain and strengthen the security of L&I's mainframe environment, ensuring compliance with state and federal requirements. This role offers the opportunity to troubleshoot complex security issues, guide risk reduction efforts, and provide knowledge that influences leadership decisions across the agency. - Maintain, configure, administer, monitor and audit the statewide Worker's Compensation systems and Labor and Industries Insurances System.
- Provide secure access for internal staff, external partners, and vendors.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve mainframe security issues, access problems, and authentication failures.
- Conduct risk analysis to identify vulnerabilities, recommend improvements, and implement security controls.
- Develop, document, and enforce mainframe security policies, standards, and procedures.
- Participate in incident response activities, providing guidance on mainframe security impacts and solutions.
- Continuously evaluate security technologies, products, and processes to enhance protection and reliability.
- Nine (9) years' of qualifying professional IT experience in a technology organization/division. Qualifying years of professional IT experience for this position includes experience with two (2) or more of the following IT Security focus areas:
- Mainframe
- Network Security
- IT Security Architecture
- IT Application Security
- RACF
- Natural Security
- Desktop Security
- Database Security
- Identity Access Management/Provisioning Software Security Awareness Training
- Formal security training or certifications such as:
- Security +
- Certified Information Security Professional (CISSP)
- Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
- Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP)
- OR College level IT Security or Information Assurance courses.
