- Lead the diagnosis and resolution of complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic failures on critical production machinery, including advanced CNC equipment.
- Develop and implement effective preventative maintenance strategies to enhance equipment reliability and lifespan.
- Provide technical guidance and on-the-job training to junior technicians, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Perform intricate rebuilds of pumps, cylinders, and valves for various systems (hydraulic, pneumatic, electric).
- Troubleshoot and maintain sophisticated systems, including robots/gas systems and complex emission control units.
- Oversee and execute specialized tasks such as rigging, precision pipefitting, and the safe handling of industrial gases (oxygen, propane, natural gas change-outs).
- Utilize and recommend enhancements for Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for accurate record-keeping and analysis.
- Ensure strict adherence to all company safety policies and procedures, serving as a safety advocate and performing spill containment duties as needed.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of maintenance processes and procedures.
- Journeyman certification or an equivalent combination of 7+ years of industrial maintenance experience and advanced technical training.
- Proven expertise in troubleshooting and repairing a wide range of industrial machinery, including CNC, milling, grinding, and turning equipment.
- Advanced proficiency in reading and interpreting complex electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics.
- Strong knowledge of PLC diagnostics and programming logic (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens).
- Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Demonstrated leadership ability and experience mentoring junior staff.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Possession of personal hand tools and the ability to operate forklifts and man-lifts (or ability to obtain certification).
- Experience in a high-volume, precision manufacturing environment (e.g., automotive, heavy-duty components).
- Proficiency in welding (MIG, TIG) and automatic torch cutting.
- Experience with root cause analysis methodologies for equipment failures.
- Background in managing inventory for critical spare parts.
