- Act as the primary technical expert for diagnosing and resolving highly complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic system malfunctions on all industrial machinery.
- Lead and direct a team of machine repair technicians in daily operations, ensuring efficient and effective task execution.
- Develop, refine, and champion preventative and predictive maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime and extend asset life.
- Provide advanced training and mentorship to the maintenance team, enhancing their technical capabilities and problem-solving skills.
- Collaborate closely with engineering and production departments to implement machine upgrades, modifications, and new equipment installations.
- Manage critical spare parts inventory and recommend strategic purchases to minimize downtime.
- Oversee the maintenance and troubleshooting of specialized systems, including comprehensive robot cells, emission systems, and complex CNC controls.
- Ensure strict adherence to all safety protocols and champion a proactive safety culture within the team.
- Utilize and optimize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for comprehensive data analysis and reporting, including work order entry and completion.
- Take the lead on complex rigging projects and ensure safe handling of all industrial gases.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial) or equivalent journeyman certification with 10+ years of progressive experience in heavy industrial machine repair.
- Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to manage, mentor, and motivate a maintenance team.
- Mastery of complex electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics, with expert-level troubleshooting capabilities.
- Profound knowledge of PLC programming, diagnostics, and industrial control systems (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens).
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills in high-pressure situations.
- Proven track record of implementing successful preventative maintenance programs and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively collaborating across departments.
- Possession of a comprehensive set of personal hand tools and relevant certifications (e.g., forklift, man-lift).
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies applied to maintenance processes.
- Certification in Vibration Analysis, Thermography, or other predictive maintenance technologies.
- Background in large-scale casting, machining, or grinding operations.
- Experience with capital equipment installation and commissioning.
- Advanced knowledge of welding and automatic torch cutting.
