Ready to take on a challenging and rewarding opportunity in machine repair within a vital Heavy Industry setting?We are seeking an experienced Machine Repair Technician II to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving more complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues on a diverse range of heavy industrial machinery. Your expertise will be crucial in minimizing downtime and ensuring our production lines operate smoothly and efficiently. This position offers a chance to truly pivot your skills into a role with greater autonomy and impact.Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair of complex industrial machinery, including CNC equipment, grinders, lathes, and milling machines.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance (PM) according to established schedules and procedures.
  • Independently rebuild hydraulic pumps, cylinders, valves, and pneumatic/electric components.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot specialized equipment such as ACS units and robots/gas systems in flame hardening departments.
  • Execute pipefitting tasks as needed and manage oxygen, propane, and natural gas change-outs safely.
  • Ensure rigorous adherence to all safety procedures and guidelines, including Lockout/Tagout.
  • Accurately document all maintenance activities, including work order entry and completion, in a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Be prepared to obtain forklift and/or man-lift licenses from the safety department.
  • Safely complete rigging tasks.
  • Perform spill containment duties when necessary.
Recommended Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree or technical certification in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience in machine repair within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair a wide range of industrial equipment.
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols and practices in a heavy industrial setting.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Possession of personal hand tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Journeyman certification in a relevant trade.
  • Experience with PLC diagnostics (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens) for diagnostics and minor programming adjustments.
  • Background in high-volume manufacturing, particularly automotive supply or heavy equipment components.
  • Knowledge of welding and automatic torch cutting and setting.
