- Lead the demand forecasting process, collaborating with sales, marketing, and other relevant departments to develop accurate demand forecasts.
- Utilize forecasting models, historical data, market trends, and customer insights to generate demand forecasts for products and services.
- Monitor forecast accuracy, identify forecast biases, and continuously improve forecasting methodologies to enhance forecast reliability.
- Develop production plans and inventory strategies to meet forecasted demand while optimizing inventory levels and minimizing carrying costs.
- Coordinate with production teams to ensure production schedules align with demand forecasts and inventory targets.
- Implement inventory optimization techniques, such as safety stock management, reorder point calculation, and lead time optimization.
- Collaborate with suppliers/vendors to ensure timely availability of materials and components to support production schedules.
- Develop procurement plans and strategies to manage supplier relationships, mitigate supply chain risks, and optimize procurement costs.
- Monitor supplier performance, lead times, and delivery reliability to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Coordinate with logistics partners and internal distribution teams to optimize transportation routes, reduce lead times, and minimize transportation costs.
- Develop distribution plans and strategies to ensure timely delivery of products to customers while maximizing distribution efficiency.
- Monitor transportation performance metrics (e.g., on-time delivery, transportation costs) and implement improvements to enhance logistics operations.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, operations, finance, and IT, to align supply chain planning activities with business goals and objectives.
- Participate in S&OP (Sales and Operations Planning) meetings to review demand forecasts, production plans, inventory levels, and supply chain performance.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide visibility into supply chain planning activities, address issues, and drive alignment across departments.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., APICS CPIM, CSCP) is preferred.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in supply chain planning, demand forecasting, production planning, inventory management, or related roles.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in supply chain planning tools and systems (e.g., ERP systems, demand planning software, inventory management tools).
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams, influence stakeholders, and drive consensus.
- Solid understanding of supply chain concepts, principles, and best practices, including demand forecasting methodologies, inventory management techniques, and logistics optimization strategies.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to develop and execute supply chain planning strategies that align with business objectives and drive continuous improvement.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
