September 3, 2025, through September 5, 2025BASIC FUNCTION:
To provide and ensure the nutritional aspects of patient care and to provide educational and instructional service to patients, families, and the community at large.
This is a shared position between hospital in patients and long-term care residents.JOB DUTIES:
1. Complete nutritional assessments utilizing the Nutrition Care Process for AACH hospital patients per Nutritional Services policy.
2. Provide inpatient instructions appropriate to prescription and individualized to the patient.
3. Provide dietary counseling to the patient’s family and/or caretakers
4. Collaborate in patients' care by acting as consultant to physicians, nurses, medical social workers and other paramedical persons in all areas of normal and therapeutic nutrition.
5. Consult with physicians concerning dietary prescriptions and implementing these through nutrition intake adapted to the needs of individual patients.
6. Recommend oral nutrition supplements and enteral feedings.
7. Approve patient menus.
8. Evaluate and prepare educational materials.
9. Lead group education classes
10. Attend multi-disciplinary rounds to coordinate patient care.
11. Competent in Inventory and Purchasing of enteral products
12. Maintaining the safety and sanitary standards of the department.
13. Weekend and Holiday on-call per rotation and provide vacation/leave coverage
14. Maintain current registration and licensure
15. Other duties as assigned.
16. Responsible for checking e-mails and on-line learning assignments (Relias) on a regular basis.

Colleague has been instructed to provide customer service and on interacting with age groups as related to the department's general client population, including use of appropriate interventions, communication and skills to match the age and/or abilities of the patient/family.MACHINES, TOOLS & EQUIPMENT USED:
Computer, iPad, smartboard, projector, and FAX machine.EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE
Registered Dietitian, licensed in the state of Ohio
Ability to educate clients of diverse backgrounds and education levels
Ability to work with all types of people
Ability to make appropriate decisions
Ability to flex hours and assignments to complete all aspects of the job on a limited schedule – inpatient and resident Nutrition Care Process, outpatient education and community classes
Must be computer-literate to complete task(s) as required. Such as Cerner (Hospital Support Software), Point Click Care, Halogen (performance appraisal system), Relias (education system), the ability to retrieve e-mails, complete online enrollment for health insurance/benefits and any other programs as assigned.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Able to stand/walk to various hospital departments intermittently through a 7.5 hr. shift.
2. Able to sit at a desk for up to 4 hours at a time.
3. Able to bend to reach items on the floor, desk level and overhead.
4. Able to lift books and supplies weighing 25 lbs. intermittently.
5. Able to see clearly and hear normal speaking tones.
6. Able to communicate verbally, interpersonally and over the telephone in a clear and concise speech.
7.
