To provide and ensure the nutritional aspects of patient care and to provide educational and instructional service to patients, families and community at large.JOB DUTIES:
1. Complete the Nutrition Care Process on patients and residents per Nutritional Services policy.
2. Provide Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) for referred MEDS Clinic patients.
3. Provide education and counseling related to nutritional status
4. Provide inpatient and outpatient instructions appropriate to prescription and individualized to the patient.
5. Cooperate in patients' care by acting as consultant to physicians, nurses, medical social workers, and other para-medical persons in all areas of normal and therapeutic nutrition.
6. Consult with physicians concerning dietary prescriptions and implementing these through nutrition intake adapted to the needs of individual patients. Recommend supplement and enteral feedings.
7. Formulate, direct and participate in staff development and in service education and training of dietary personnel.
8. Educate the community through group classes (e.g., diabetes classes, Lunch-and-Learn, Diabetes Support Group, etc.).
9. Evaluate and prepare education materials.
10. Attend interdisciplinary meetings as directed.
11. Maintaining safety and sanitary standards of the department
12. Participate in quality assurance programs and updating as needed.
13. Responsible for checking emails and on line learning assignments (Relias) on a regular basis
14. Provide nutritional support to Wound Clinic and ACCN.

Registered Dietitian, licensed in the state of Ohio
Ability to educate clients of diverse backgrounds and education levels
Ability to work with all types of people
Ability to make appropriate decisions
Ability to flex hours and assignments to complete all aspects of job in a limited schedule – inpatient and resident Competent with the Nutrition Care Process
Must be computer literate to complete task(s) as required.
CDE credential preferred but not requiredPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Able to stand/walk 7.5 hours per day.
  • Able to bend to reach items on the floor, desk level and overhead.
  • Must lift minimum of 25 lbs routinely for 7.5 hours per day.
  • Able to see clearly and hear normal speaking tones.
  • Able to communicate verbally interpersonally and over the telephone in a clear and concise speech.
  • Dexterity necessary to write legibly and type for long periods; up to four hours at a time.
