The opportunityDelaware North is hiring a full-time Senior Director of Government Affairs to join our team in Buffalo, New York. As a Senior Director of Government Affairs, you will be responsible for representing Delaware North Corporation in legislative and regulatory matters with national, regional, and local governments and special purpose or quasi-government agencies by providing policy direction, coordinating operating unit government affairs initiatives, and lobbying for the organization's interests. What will you do?
  • Develop and execute government affairs strategies that align with company objectives, engaging with federal, state, and local officials, agencies, and industry stakeholders
  • Communicate legislative priorities through concise advocacy materials, white papers, and direct relationship-building with policymakers, regulators, and trade associations
  • Support strategic planning by evaluating business challenges, recommending solutions, and collaborating with senior leadership on policy alignment and innovation
  • Administer the company PAC, manage consultant engagements, support charitable giving efforts, and oversee department budgets and compliance filings
  • Partner with internal teams and political consultants to shape RFP responses and advocacy campaigns that support business development and regulatory goals
More about you
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Experienced Legislative Director or Chief of Staff to a state or federal member
  • Experienced political campaign manager with a minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in political, legislative, or corporate government affairs positions; minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior-level role
  • Experienced political events and advance lead
  • Experience as a spokesperson on behalf of a campaign, company, elected member, or government
  • Experience as a PAC administrator or campaign treasurer preferred
