Description :Find your Joy at The Amberleigh a Senior Living Community located in Williamsville, NY is seeking a dedicated and experienced Dining Services Director to lead all aspects of our culinary operations across Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care. This position has an Assistant Dining Service Director and Dining Room Supervisor who assist in providing leadership in the dining department. This role ensures the highest standards of food quality, service, safety, and sanitation while creating a welcoming, restaurant-style dining experience for our residents. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, creativity, scratch cooking experience and a passion for serving older adults through nutritious and enjoyable meals tailored to individual needs and preferences.Key Responsibilities:Dining Operations ManagementOversee all dining services, including menu planning, food preparation, meal service, and kitchen operations for three levels of care.Ensure meal service is timely, resident-focused, and aligned with dietary preferences and restrictions.Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal food safety regulations, including Department of Health standards.Staff Leadership & DevelopmentRecruit, train, schedule, and supervise dining staff including cooks, servers, and dishwashers.Foster a positive team culture focused on hospitality, safety, and quality.Conduct performance reviews, coaching, and ongoing training to maintain high service standards.Menu Planning & NutritionWork with dietitians or clinical team to develop nutritious and appealing menus that accommodate therapeutic and texture-modified diets (e.g., diabetic, low-sodium, puree).Create seasonal and themed menus that enhance resident engagement and satisfaction. * Create country club level meals that make dining an exceptional experienceResident Satisfaction & EngagementBuild strong relationships with residents and families to gather feedback and continuously improve dining experiences.Organize special events, holiday meals, and themed dining experiences in collaboration with the Life Enrichment team.Budget & Inventory ManagementManage food and labor budgets effectively, monitoring costs and identifying opportunities for efficiency.Oversee inventory, ordering, and vendor relationships to ensure freshness, cost control, and consistency.Qualifications:Minimum 3–5 years of experience in food service management, preferably in a senior living, healthcare, or hospitality setting.Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in culinary arts, hospitality management, or related field preferred.ServSafe® Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).Strong understanding of dietary needs and regulations for seniors, including memory care residents.Proven ability to lead a team and manage operations in a fast-paced environment.Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.Physical Requirements:Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs.Must be able to navigate kitchen and dining areas safely.May be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on community needs.Compensation & Benefits:Salary Range $75,000- $85,000 based on experienceComprehensive benefits package (medical, dental, vision, 401(k), paid time off)Opportunities for continuing education and career growth
