- Set up, operate, and adjust CNC Swiss lathes (Citizen, Star, Tsugami, or similar brands) to produce precision components.
- Read and interpret engineering blueprints, CAD drawings, and GD&T specifications to ensure compliance.
- Program and edit G-code and M-code to optimize machining efficiency.
- Select and install tooling, fixtures, and machine attachments for various jobs.
- Conduct first article inspections and make necessary adjustments to ensure precision tolerances are met.
- Use calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, and other precision measuring tools for quality control.
- Troubleshoot machine issues, tool wear, and perform minor maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
- Work with engineering and quality teams to continuously improve processes and part quality.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, following safety protocols and company procedures.
- Proven experience as a CNC Swiss Machinist in a precision manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of Swiss-style CNC lathes, programming, and machining operations.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T symbols, and technical specifications.
- Experience with tight tolerances (micron-level precision) and high-quality surface finishes.
- Proficiency in G-code, M-code, and CAM software (Mastercam, Esprit, or similar).
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced production setting.
- Technical degree or certification in CNC Machining, Precision Manufacturing, or related field.
- Experience in medical, aerospace, or high-precision component manufacturing.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques.
