POSITION OVERVIEWThe IT Network Administrator is responsible for the network planning, design and optimization, monitors and analyzes the operation of client server platforms, and applies technical knowledge to assist internal users with computer problems.TOP 5 RESPONSIBILITIES * Monitors network performance. Ensures capacity planning is performed and proactive in assessing and making recommendations for improvement.
  • Assesses server performance, and makes recommendations for change based on organizational needs and goals.
  • Implements and manages security measures that protect the network and server infrastructure.
  • Coordinates referrals to technical, professional or service personnel depending on the repair, training, service or software issue.
  • Ensures network and server backups and documentation are up to date; ensuring that it aligns with the disaster recover and business continuity plan.
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Network Configuration and Management: Setting up, configuring, and managing network hardware and software to ensure optimal performance.
  • Server Maintenance: Performing regular maintenance tasks on servers, including updates, backups, and troubleshooting.
  • Security Management: Implementing and managing security measures to protect network and server infrastructure from threats.
  • User Support: Providing technical support to users, resolving network and server-related issues.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitoring network and server performance to identify and resolve issues proactively.
  • Documentation: Creating and maintaining documentation for network and server configurations, procedures, and policies.
  • Disaster Recovery: Developing and implementing disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity.
  • Compliance: Ensuring that network and server infrastructure complies with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Project Management: Leading or participating in network and server-related projects, including planning, execution, and monitoring.
  • Training and Development: Providing training to lower-level staff and staying updated with the latest technologies and best practices.
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
  • Windows server latest versions
  • Microsoft 365 User and domain management with local domain server synchronization.
  • Microsoft Virtual Server environments
  • Ubiquiti LAN, WAN, and Wi-Fi management.
  • SharePoint 365 maintenance
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
  • Performs work with minimal supervision and provides task supervision of lower level staff.
  • Handles most issues and problems and only refers the most complex issues to higher-level staff.
  • Possesses working to advanced working knowledge of subject matter.
  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree and 4 to 6 years of experience, or Associate’s degree with 6+ years of experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
  • 1 or more associate level certifications completed:
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA): A widely recognized associate-level certification covering networking fundamentals.
  • CompTIA Security+: A certification focused on basic security functions.
  • Microsoft 365 Certified Administrator Associate: Focuses on administering Microsoft 365.
  • Microsoft Certified Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate: Focuses on hybrid server environments.
