Plans, directs and manages the operation of all Polar Bowl food and beverage activities. Food & beverages activities include, but are not limited to snack bars, vending, contracts and any other operations related to food and beverage. Implements higher-level directives, formulates procedures and programs to ensure high standards of food and beverage programs. Establishes, reviews and evaluates food and beverage service and purchase of supplies and equipment. Analyzes financial results and maintains solid financial condition of food and beverage activities. Plans menus, prepares budgets, requisitions supplies and equipment, maintains accurate inventory control, cash control and uniform accounting procedures. Develops operating policies, practices and instructions. Oversees food preparation and continually reviews menu selection to meet customers' demands. Ensures operations are within established financial goals. Operates vehicle to pick up supplies, run errands, etc. Establishes work assignments and provides general instructions. Prepares and posts work schedules. Ensures proper preparation, display and pricing of food and beverage items, adheres to correct receipt and pricing procedures, maintains sales records and accountability documents, maintains security of food and beverage operations, cash and fixed assets. Interviews and selects workers and assigns tasks. Explains work requirements, methods and procedures. Determines equipment, supplies and maintenance required. Maintains maintenance logs of all equipment. Ensures adequate stock levels are maintained and orders stock as required. Trains and supervises subordinates on all phases of food and beverage operations to include established sanitation procedures. Develops performance standards, counsels employees on performance and completes evaluations when required.   • This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.

Must have experience which demonstrates the ability to supervise a funds-generating & revenue-producing Cost center in an activity. Must have responsible experience related to the supervision of food, beverage, or hospitality services. Must have experience in planning, organizing and accounting for the services provided. Such experience must have been acquired as a supervisor of a function in a similar food/beverage activity or as a supervisor of a fast/limited-service food/beverage facility. Must be able to lift 50 lbs and be able to withstand kitchen heat. Must be able to withstand continual standing, walking, frequent stooping, pushing/pulling, bending, and exposure to freezer temps.Must satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical. Must obtain or be able to obtain a Food Handler's card. Must have a valid driver's license. Must satisfactorily complete a Tier 1 Investigation.EducationSome federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
