- Develop and implement IEPs tailored to each student's needs.
- Deliver instruction aligned with Arkansas Academic Standards and adapted to students' abilities.
- Utilize evidence-based strategies to support diverse learners.
- Assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
- Work closely with general education teachers to support inclusive practices.
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and IEP goals.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and professional development sessions.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and IEP implementation.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations on special education.
- Prepare reports and documentation as required by ADE and school policies.
Duties and responsibilities may evolve as school needs change. Teachers and instructional staff may be asked to perform additional tasks to support student achievement, school culture, and team collaboration.QualificationsEducation: Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field required.
Licenses: Standard Arkansas Teaching License in Special Education K-12; or eligible for licensure through reciprocity; or enrolled in an .
Experience: Prior experience working with students with disabilities preferred.
- Must pass state and federal background checks, including fingerprinting and child maltreatment registry checks.
- Ongoing participation in professional development activities as required by ADE.
- Strong understanding of special education laws and best practices.
- Ability to develop and implement effective instructional strategies.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience teaching in a KIPP or other high-performing charter school environment preferred.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus.
