The Manufacturing Technology Business Analyst plays a key role in bridging the gap between manufacturing operations and IT by analyzing, implementing, and optimizing technology solutions that support production efficiency, quality, and scalability. This role focuses on understanding business needs, evaluating system performance, and driving digital transformation initiatives across the manufacturing floor.Key Responsibilities:
Business Analysis & Process Optimization:
- Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and IT teams to gather and document business requirements.
- Analyze current manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for improvement through technology.
- Develop business cases for new systems or enhancements to existing tools.
- Support the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of manufacturing systems such as MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems), ERP, SCADA, and PLM.
- Act as a liaison between users and technical teams during system upgrades, rollouts, and troubleshooting.
- Work with data teams to ensure accurate data collection from shop floor systems.
- Develop dashboards and reports to support production KPIs, quality metrics, and operational insights.
- Create user documentation, SOPs, and training materials for new systems or processes.
- Conduct training sessions for manufacturing personnel on new technologies and tools.
- Lead or support cross-functional projects involving manufacturing technology.
- Track project milestones, risks, and deliverables to ensure successful implementation.
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Information Systems, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in a business analyst or systems analyst role within a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with manufacturing systems such as MES, ERP (e.g., SAP, Oracle), PLM (e.g., Windchill), and SCADA.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- ERP experience with Syteline or Infor LN
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Knowledge of Industry 4.0 technologies (IoT, digital twins, predictive maintenance).
- Familiarity with SQL, Power BI, or other data analysis tools.
- Understanding manufacturing workflows such as BOM management, work orders, and quality control.
