GENERAL DESCRIPTIONThe Department Administrator is responsible for helping to support the university's compliance with the requirements set forth by Title IX, the Clery Act, the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), and Illinois Preventing Sexual Violence in Higher Education Act. The Department Administrator will report to the Title IX Coordinator and carry out the following responsibilities:
  • Keep abreast of changes in guidance at the federal and state levels to communicate the current changes in Title IX program by participating in annual and ongoing training, and self-educating
  • Assist with Title IX investigations and informal resolutions
  • Assist with maintaining detailed records of reports/cases in Maxient, Box, Google Drive, and Microsoft 360
  • Assist with managing the annual online employee sexual harassment prevention training
  • Assist with effective in-person/virtual Title IX educational prevention training for various constituents across the campus community
  • Assist with creating and updating internal office resource documents and Title IX documents, and other marketing materials
  • Assist with updating the Title IX website
  • Assist with developing and implementing the Sexual Assault Awareness Month campaign and the Domestic Violence Awareness Month campaign by collaborating with stakeholders across the campus
  • Assist with the completion of the annual Clery and IPSHVE reports by maintaining and updating detailed records of annual campus training and reports received
  • Assist the Title IX Coordinator and other team members in processing invoices

COMMUNICATIONSThis position requires a person with strong communication skills to communicate and interpret policy verbally and in writing, using effective interpersonal skills. This person will work directly with the Title IX staff and collaborate with various stakeholders across the university. This person will possess active listening skills and
accurate note-taking ability as well as solid editing skills for use when editing office resources documents, policy manuals, marketing material, and letter-writing campaigns to make the language clear, accurate, and reader-friendlyCUSTOMER SERVICEThis position requires using effective interpersonal skills, including the ability to demonstrate empathy and to use trauma-informed skills.
