For more information, refer to the for details.The Assessor-Recorder-County Clerk's (ARC) office is seeking Records Technicians who determine the recordability or filing of legal source documents; retrieve, research, prepare, and/or provide certified copies of legal documents, official records, and vital records; assist the public in self-service research of official records of property ownership, deeds, liens, etc., via microfiche and archives; prepare copies of maps and documents; calculate and collect fees; issue applications for marriage licenses and perform civil marriage ceremonies; and accept, review, and process filing applications for Fictitious Business Name Statements, Abandonments, Dissolutions of Partnership, Withdrawals of Partnership, and Proof of Publications.For more detailed information, refer to the job description.The resulting eligible list may be used to fill immediate and future vacancies throughout the County as they occur.COMPETITIVE SALARY & BENEFITSAnnual Across the Board Salary Increase in February 2026*

Sponsorship: San Bernardino County is not able to consider candidates who will require visa sponsorship at the time of application or in the future.*Salary increases contingent upon Property Related Revenue and/or statewide Proposition 172 Sales Tax Collections performance.Minimum RequirementsCANDIDATES MUST MEET ONE OF THE FOLLOWING OPTION REQUIREMENTS:OPTION 1Must possess a High School Diploma or G.E.D AND six (6) months of full-time equivalent experience in a title, real estate, escrow, insurance, mortgage, banking institution, law office, government, or related office environment.OPTION 2Must possess a High School Diploma or G.E.D AND eighteen (18) months of full-time equivalent clerical experience within an office environment which includes knowledge of modern office practices, such as filing, operating standard office equipment, basic arithmetic, proper office etiquette, and reception/customer service techniques in person, over the telephone, and in writing.All work experience must be clearly detailed and demonstrated on the application AND supplemental questionnaire to ensure qualifications are properly considered (resumes are not reviewed). All information must be current and up to date.Desired QualificationsThe ideal candidate will have the ability to:
- Review, understand, apply, and explain laws, regulations, and policies governing legal documents.
- Perform basic arithmetical calculations.
