You may review, modify, or update your information by visiting and logging into the careers section of the system.Job Description:At Regions, the Credit Portfolio Management (CPM) Analyst will focus on topical research leveraging quantitative and qualitative methods to assess portfolio performance trends, market analytics and outlooks to drive the active portfolio management of Regions credit portfolio.Primary Responsibilities
  • Willingly collaborates across teams throughout the bank (e.g., Line of Business, Risk, Treasury, Finance, Technology) to leverage expertise and complete complex projects
  • Initiates research to drive origination strategy and/or risk mitigation and acts and is a thoughts leader
  • Conducts routine and ad hoc research at the direction of the CPM Research Manager, including (performance trends analysis, market trend and outlook)
  • Summarizes findings from external research
  • Proactively queries Regions’ data repositories in response to inbound questions from business leaders and to support research efforts
  • Sources, scrubs and maintains internal and external data required for research and analysis purposes
  • Collaborates with Risk Reporting to design dashboards to improve risk awareness throughout the firm
  • Builds tools to be used throughout the firm in credit underwriting, portfolio monitoring and risk assessment
  • Provides support to area of expertise on special projects
  • Provides training, managerial support and/or coaching to Analyst I and II team members
This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Five (5) years of credit/ market research, advanced analytics or credit risk management experience
Preferences
  • Master’s degree or Professional Certification (e.g., Certified Financial Analyst, Certified Public Accountant, Financial Risk Manager)
  • Advanced understanding of quantitative measures of credit performance (e.g., Probability of Default/Loss Given Default/EL/EC)
  • Expertise with SQL/SAS, Python, R, VBA or other programming languages
  • Expertise in one or more major asset classes (e.g., C&I, Real Estate, Consumer)
Skills and Competencies
  • Ability to set priorities, organize workflow, manage multiple tasks concurrently, and work well under pressure and deadlines
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Ability to conduct fact-based research and summarize findings
  • Proficiency with software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Power BI)
  • Strong oral presentation skills (both large and small audiences)
  • Ability to draw conclusions from fact-based research and recommend actions to drive credit strategy (origination and/or risk mitigation)
  • Advanced skills in Excel and Power BI)
  • Willingness to collaborate across teams throughout the bank (e.g., Line of Business, Risk, Treasury, Finance, Technology) to leverage expertise and complete complex projects
Additionally, the Credit Portfolio Management (“CPM”) Analyst will:
  • Focus on topical research leveraging quantitative and qualitative methods to assess portfolio performance trends, market analytics and outlooks to drive the active portfolio management of Regions credit portfolio. Research will range from short, topical “quick takes” that raise awareness of issues such as: industry performance, headline risks, regulatory or accounting policy changes, and other emerging risks to “deep dives” that are more thorough analyses intended to drive origination strategy and/or risk mitigation initiatives. The Analyst will also assist Credit Portfolio Managers to answer ad hoc questions and complete special project assignments as needed.
  • Independently manage development and presentation of research deliverables such as news briefs, sub-industry risk assessments, market scores and topical deep dive research, including review of work by performed by other team members
  • Qualified candidates would be seen as a thought leader with enough business acumen to initiate research to drive loan origination strategy and/or credit risk mitigation
