Promote Catholic values and IHM mission through sportsmanship, integrity, and example.
Mentor assistant coaches and provide ongoing support and evaluation.
Actively participate in Marian community events and athletic booster groups.
Model professionalism, collaboration, and leadership for students and peers.Program Development
Build and sustain a competitive, educationally-focused softball program.
Develop off-season conditioning and skill training programs.
Plan and implement short- and long-term program goals.Student-Athlete Support
Foster student-athlete academic achievement and service involvement.
Prioritize the physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of athletes.
Maintain strong, respectful relationships with student-athletes and families.Coaching Excellence
Create and execute effective, developmentally appropriate practice plans.
Utilize sound tactical strategies and motivational coaching techniques.
Assess individual and team performance to promote growth and success.Administration & Compliance
Ensure adherence to NFHS, MHSAA, CHSL, and school regulations.
Coordinate with the Athletic Director on scheduling, budgeting, and purchasing.
Maintain records related to eligibility, injuries, equipment, and facilities.
Collaborate in hiring, onboarding, and evaluating assistant coaches.Qualifications
Required:
First Aid/CPR and Concussion Certification (or willingness to obtain).
Valid driver's license with a clean record.
Prior softball coaching experience, ideally at the high school level.
Demonstrated leadership, organization, and communication skills.
Alignment with Marian's Catholic mission and values.Preferred:
Bachelor's degree and/or teaching certification.
Formal coursework in athletic coaching or sports management.
Familiarity with MHSAA and CHSL rules and procedures.
Experience using electronic tools for communication, planning, and compliance.Physical Requirements & Work Environment
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs, supervise athletic activities, and manage practice/game settings.
Includes evenings and weekends during the competitive season.
Work is performed in indoor/outdoor athletic settings with moderate noise levels.To Apply:
