- Ensures all tasks are promptly completed in compliance with federal regulations, customer guidelines and company policies.
- Reviews required customer and FAA paperwork to ensure proper maintenance updates and compliance with applicable regulations and customer requirements.
- Leads the maintenance, preventative maintenance, or alteration of, or approve and return to service, any aircraft, or part thereof, only for which Lead is rated and has satisfactorily performed the work concerned at an earlier date.
- Performs maintenance tasks as required and becomes an active member of the crew.
- Conducts crew meetings to ensure communication regarding work, safety, and quality.
- Uses technical data to order parts and ensure material is effective for the aircraft being installed. Ensures all parts for the specialty area are ordered in a timely manner.
- Ensures Engineering is submitted in a timely manner as needed.
- Responsible for keeping all assigned areas clean and audit-ready. Identifies and eliminates hazards that pose a risk to employee safety and quality of work. Ensures compliance with safety requirements.
- Responsible for on-time delivery of assigned skill sets in coordination with other skill sets.
- Monitors and corrects routine and non-routine labor hours prior to exceeding the allotted estimated hours.
- Notifies Supervisor of variations in labor requirements to ensure the most efficient utilization of labor and resources and to avoid LOW when possible.
- Answers questions from customers as needed.
- Responsible for setting timeframe expectations with technicians on task card accomplishment.
- Oversees On-the-Job Training (OJT) provides learning opportunities through work assignments and mentoring.
- Recommends changes to processes to improve efficiency and workflow.
- Complies with, communicates, and provides guidance to team members on ATS policies, procedures and Safety Management System (SMS) requirements. Promotes "Balanced Technician" concept.
- Mentors and develops the technical and leadership skills of the mechanics.
- Communicates with the Supervisor all information on assigned employees, including disciplinary problems. May deliver or give input on performance evaluations for assigned employees.
- Provides regular feedback and performance coaching, including appropriate time management, prioritizing tasks, and ensuring proper knowledge and training to accomplish assignments for all members of the assigned crew.
- Responsible for accurate timekeeping, including clocking into jobs.
- Responsible for the accuracy of clocking into jobs for the assigned team.
- Responsible for adhering to all ATS required training.
- Regular and predictable attendance.
- Effective and appropriate conduct with co-workers.
- A minimum of four (4) years of recent commercial aircraft maintenance and/or MRO experience is preferred.
- Applicable Repairman, Airframe, or Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certification required.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to sit, use their hands and arms, talk or hear, and focus on close objects.
- The employee will also be required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to handle and climb ladders and aircraft stairs.
