Read on.This is a small team in Morgan Stanley Algorithmic Trading Services with presence in New York, London, and Hong Kong. The team works closely with business to create trading strategies for clients that optimize execution costs by utilizing systematic, evidence-based approaches, generating ideas, running experiments to verify them, and then put them in action. Team members come from varied backgrounds of finance, econometrics, statistics, mathematics, computer science and data analysis, with many versed in multiple areas.This position is for a trading systems engineer, primarily coding in Java with some data analysis in KDB/Jupyter notebook.What you’ll do in the role:Design, develop, test, and deploy new strategies and features in production taking responsibility for full software lifecycle.Monitor trades and do historical analysis for performance improvements and reducing execution costs.Interact with business extensively, discussing ideas, explaining trading behavior and seeing direct impact of their improvements in production.Work involves a mix of quantitative analysis, idea generation and development of trading algos making it challenging as well as interesting.What you’ll bring to the role:Electronic Trading system/Algorithmic Trading system experienceExcellent communication and problem-solving skillsStrong technical background in software developmentExperience developing Java (preferred) trading applicationsScripting Perl/PythonDesired Skills:Understanding of US markets/Interest in tradingKDB/Jupyter Notebook/Data analysisKnowledge of FIX protocolWHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM MORGAN STANLEY:We are committed to maintaining the first-class service and high standard of excellence that have defined Morgan Stanley for over 89 years.
