Salary Range: $170,000 - $200,000 per yearWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Physician Assistant (PA) Supervisor to lead our team of PAs. This is an exciting opportunity to spearhead a BRAND-NEW service, playing a pivotal role in shaping its development and success.The ideal candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day oversight of PA operations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care, and fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment. This is a full-time position, working 8 hours per day, 5 days per week.Responsibilities:
- Clinical Oversight: Provide direct supervision and mentorship to a team of Physician Assistants, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols, best practices, and regulatory requirements. This includes reviewing charts, providing feedback on patient management, and assisting with complex cases as needed.
- Quality Assurance: Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes, safety, and satisfaction. Monitor and evaluate PA performance through regular audits, peer reviews, and performance evaluations.
- Scheduling and Staffing: Collaborate with leadership to develop and manage PA schedules, ensuring adequate staffing levels to meet patient demand. Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and training of new PAs.
- Professional Development: Identify educational needs and facilitate ongoing professional development opportunities for the PA team. Stay abreast of current medical trends, guidelines, and advancements, and integrate them into practice.
- Collaboration and Communication: Foster strong working relationships with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care coordination. Serve as a liaison between PAs and departmental leadership.
- Compliance: Ensure the PA team complies with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations, as well as organizational policies and procedures, including HIPAA and ethical guidelines.
- Problem-Solving: Address and resolve any issues or concerns that arise related to PA practice, patient care, or team dynamics in a timely and effective manner.
- Current, unrestricted Physician Assistant (PA) license in NY.
- Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) certification.
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience as a practicing Physician Assistant.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, including strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working in a Union environment a big plus!
- Thorough knowledge of healthcare regulations, clinical guidelines, and best practices.
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic healthcare environment.
