- Assists in developing electrical documents using architectural background layouts and system performance requirements defined by the project team including the architect, engineer, and project manager.
- Assists in pre-design project activities, such as site assessment, site plan review, and verification of as built conditions.
- Assists project team to find optimum system sizing, routing, materials, and space management for equipment and electrical distribution systems.
- Assists senior staff with services during construction, including responding to RFIs, shop drawing and submittal review, and as built drawings.
- Coordinates with the designs of other trades (architectural and engineering/ internal and external)
- Assists in developing projects in compliance with engineering codes, standards, principles, relevant specifications, and contractual requirements.
- Assists in the production of construction documents under the supervision of a Professional Engineer and coordinate with other disciplines.
- Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
- Mentor interns and junior members of project teams
- Assists in development of construction drawings, specifications, details, schedules, and diagrams for electrical and lighting systems.
- Assists in performing quality control reviews of work developed by others.
- Design drawings based on written and verbal descriptions from design engineers;
- Develop Electrical construction documentation under supervision of assigned engineering, design, and BIM staff utilizing primarily Revit;
- Perform electrical calculations such as Short Circuit, power flow, arc flash, harmonics , lightning protection, circuit breaker time current curves and protection coordination
- Create detailed field installation drawings and fabrication drawings;
- Work from both customer and firm drawings;
- Perform file management functions such as posting models, downloading model updates, and managing links;
- Provide technical support for existing projects and field service;
- Attend coordination meetings, communicate with other trades, and create/extract reports as required.
- Proficient in the use Autodesk Building Systems Software

- Energetic and self-motivated
- Working knowledge of Microsoft products
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- 3+ years of experience
- Proficient in Revit and AutoCAD
- Have a degree in Electrical Engineering.
- EIT in process (preferred)
- Possess at least 3+ years of experience in electrical design on commercial building projects; warehouse experience preferred.
- Have advanced proficiency in technical knowledge, the A&E industry, building electrical and energy codes, and standards relating to a broad range of retail practice, project, or program types.
- Proficient in Revit, AGI 32, AutoCAD
- Possess excellent and effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Can meet fast-paced deadlines while maintaining quality design.
- Assisting in the production of construction documents (drawings and specifications) for new buildings, renovations, and additions to existing facilities as needed
- Reviewing and maintaining high quality of design documents
- Overseeing and mentoring other electrical designers on team
- Developing and maintaining internal project schedules and design budgets
- Providing coordination of project designs with other disciplines
- Communicating effectively with clients and being an outward facing member of the design team
- Performing travel as needed
