Location: Mesa, AZ
Job Description: * Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical design and drafting.Preferably with exposure to industrial product development and applications. * Preferred qualification: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering for advanced design and engineering roles.
- Create Electrical Schematics: Develop detailed circuit diagrams for control panels, power distribution, and system interfaces.
- Design Wiring Layouts: Plan and draft wiring diagrams for industrial systems, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
- Generate Electrical Layouts: PCB layout design in 2D/3D using CAD tools for accurate component placement and routing.
- Prepare BOMs: Create and maintain Bills of Materials listing all electrical components and specifications.
- Document Specifications: Write and update electrical design specifications and technical documentation.
- Perform Load Calculations: Calculate electrical loads to ensure proper sizing of wires, breakers, and transformers.
- Select Components: Choose appropriate electrical parts such as relays, contactors, sensors, and connectors.
- Ensure Code Compliance: Verify designs against NEC, IEC, and other relevant electrical standards.
- Participate in Design Reviews: Collaborate with engineering teams to review and refine electrical designs.
- Support Manufacturing: Provide technical support during production, including troubleshooting and design clarifications.
- Resolve Design Issues: Investigate and fix problems in existing designs to improve reliability and performance.
- Optimize Designs: Suggest improvements for manufacturability, cost-efficiency, and safety.
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with mechanical, software, and production teams to align designs.
- Maintain Revision Control: Track changes in design documents and ensure version control.
- Use CAD Tools: Utilize AutoCAD, SolidWorks Electrical, or similar software for drafting and modeling.
- Conduct Risk Assessments: Evaluate potential electrical hazards and propose mitigation strategies.
- Support Testing: Assist in prototype testing and validation of electrical systems.
- Train Junior Designers: Mentor and support less experienced team members in design practices.
- Stay Updated: Continuously learn about new technologies, standards, and tools in electrical design.
