Respiratory Therapist

• Delivers life-support, resuscitation, monitoring and various medical gases therapy to patients under general supervision of the Respiratory Therapy Supervisor.
• Performs invasive and non-invasive diagnostic procedures to Intensive Care and General Practice Units patients.
• Maintains clinical expertise for Departmental assignments at various business units throughout, as assigned.
• Communicates effectively with patients, co-workers, physicians and other system employees as needed, regarding patient care needs.
• Adequately documents all aspects of patient care.
• Supervises, directs and delegates to Respiratory Therapists, Respiratory orients, externs and students, as assigned.
• Completes necessary and accurate patient billing information.

• Shift/hours: 36 hours - 3x12s, 19:00 - 07:30
• Schedule: 3 days a week
• Location: 16001 W. 9 Mile Rd. – Ascension Providence Hospital – Southfield Campus 48075
• Patients: Possibly 6 beds in ICU, 1-20 patients in treatment
• Requirements: Registered with the National Board of Respiratory Care, Current license – Respiratory Therapist State of Michigan, BLS

• Associate of Science Degree, from an accredited Respiratory Therapist program
• Registration with the National Board of Respiratory Care
• Current License – Respiratory Therapist State of Michigan
• Bachelors in Respiratory Therapy preferred
