With a $60M budget, the founding principles guide our work as we promote strengths-based education and best practices for child development by assisting vulnerable working families, supporting childcare providers and educational services, and advocating for economically resilient communities.Location(s): Administrative Offices, Los Angeles, CAFSLA Status: ExemptSalary: $105,000 - $115,000/Year + Comprehensive Benefits PackagePOSITION OVERVIEWThe Director of Data and Analytics will oversee systems and processes for collecting and communicating data throughout the organization. Strategize and implement improvements to data management practices. Establishes foundations for data-based measurement and evaluation of organizational performance. Analyzes data from inside and outside of the organization to inform actionable insights for quality assurance purposes. Enforces comprehensive data governance standards. Fosters a culture of excellence related to data management.ORGANIZATIONAL LEADERSHIP● Participate as an active, open, and visible member of the leadership team, promoting effective collaboration across all departments and positive work experience for all staff.● Prioritize efforts to operationalize the strategic plan through collaboration with the COO and Leadership Team.● Provide regular reports to the COO and leadership team.● Provide leadership on agency-wide initiatives, including regular assessments of future opportunities and challenges.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES· Evaluate existing systems for managing data within the organization, which include Microsoft SharePoint, MCT Technology’s CareConnect 4, and AccuFund. Develop and execute a strategy for effectively gathering and storing data and facilitating the flow of information between different systems and their associated departments. Routinely review the performance of the data management function and refine activities as needed.· Set guidelines for gathering and analyzing data throughout the organization, including establishing key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the effectiveness and impact of individual departments and the organization as a whole.· Deliver guidance about organizational data management practices through written reports, verbal presentations, and other forms of communication.· Analyze internally and externally sourced data through the lens of quality assurance and communicate recommendations for what changes to make to improve the quality of the organization’s functions.· Solicit feedback from stakeholders about their analytics needs and align data management practices to allow for the collection of relevant metrics, including measures of progress against the organization’s strategic plan. After the relevant data has been collected, create dashboards, visualizations, and reports incorporating the requested analyses.· Codify and enforce data governance standards that uphold the accuracy, reliability, and security of organizational data. Ensure that data is handled in accordance with governmental contract requirements such as NIST SP 800-53. Comply with data security audits from county and state agencies.· Collaborate with IT staff on systems adjustments and replacements related to data management.· Represent the data and analytics function of the organization in monthly senior leadership meetings and other key forums for disseminating important information about data and analytics.· Supervise the entry-to-mid-level data analytics and quality assurance staff as needed.QUALIFICATIONS● Bachelor's degree from a four-year institution in Information Sciences, Data Management, Business Administration, or similar field and equivalent technical training and experience.● A minimum of 5 years’ experience in data and analytics.● Effective oral and written communication skills, including writing comprehensive reports and insightful presentations to the COO and Leadership Team.● Ability to evaluate existing systems and collect data to establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Must be able to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and handle several abstract and concrete variables.● Proven ability to effectively prioritize, lead, coordinate, and implement projects and meet deadlines when faced with multiple demands.● Strong planning and organizational skills, including demonstrated ability to improve and upgrade internal systems and procedures.● Commitment to supporting colleagues and maintaining effective productivity and high morale.OTHER REQUIREMENTS
  • Must possess a valid California driver’s license, have use of a motor vehicle, and provide evidence of automobile liability insurance.
  • The position may require evening and weekend work.
