Job Description:We are seeking a responsible and dedicated Animal Control Officer to join our public safety and animal services team in the USA. The ideal candidate will enforce local and state animal control laws, protect the public from dangerous animals, ensure the humane treatment of animals, and promote responsible pet ownership in the community. This role requires strong communication skills, sound judgment, and a genuine commitment to animal welfare and public safety.Key Responsibilities:Enforce animal control laws and ordinances within the community.Respond to calls and complaints about stray, injured, dangerous, or neglected animals.Capture, handle, and transport animals safely and humanely using proper equipment.Investigate cases of animal cruelty, abuse, or neglect, and gather evidence for possible legal action.Issue warnings or citations and prepare detailed reports of incidents and investigations.Work with local shelters and veterinary services to ensure proper care and housing for impounded animals.Educate the public about responsible pet ownership, vaccination requirements, and animal safety.Assist in coordinating adoption and outreach programs when appropriate.Appear in court to testify in animal-related legal cases when necessary.Maintain accurate records of animal control activities, incidents, and outcomes.Ensure all animal control equipment and vehicles are maintained and operated safely.Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in animal control, law enforcement, or animal science is a plus.Previous experience working with animals, animal control, or public safety is strongly preferred.Valid drivers license with a clean driving record.Knowledge of local and state animal control regulations and procedures.Ability to handle animals of various sizes and temperaments safely.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Good physical condition with the ability to lift, restrain, and transport animals.Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure.Availability to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and emergency on-call shifts.Preferred Skills:Certification as an Animal Control Officer is desirable.Experience in conflict resolution and public relations.Familiarity with safe animal handling techniques and equipment.Basic knowledge of animal health, diseases, and first aid.Benefits:Competitive salary and overtime opportunities.Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.Paid time off, holidays, and sick leave.Training and certification reimbursement.Retirement plan options.Supportive work environment focused on community safety and animal welfare.
