- Define quality standards and create inspection plans and test methods.
- Implement statistical process control methods to monitor and control manufacturing processes.
- Inspect raw materials, components, assemblies, and processes to ensure compliance with requirements.
- Ensure calibration of gages and measuring equipment and maintain records.
- Track performance data, analyze results, and generate reports to identify areas for improvement.
- Investigate non-conformances, determine root cause, and recommend corrective actions.
- Lead cross-functional problem-solving teams to address complex issues.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions and verify outcomes both internally and with suppliers.
- Identify opportunities for improvement in manufacturing processes and product quality.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and other teams to ensure quality integration throughout the product life cycle.
- Interact with suppliers to facilitate effective communication, including supplier visits.
- Maintain detailed documentation, including quality plans, inspection reports, and validation protocols.
- Communicate with internal departments, suppliers, and auditors both verbally and in writing.
- Maintain knowledge of industry regulations and standards to ensure company compliance.
- Identify gaps in the Quality Management System and initiate updates to address them.
- Train others in quality processes, procedures, and tools.
- Participate in interviewing, hiring, and onboarding new employees as appropriate.
- Proficiency in quality engineering and quality management systems.
- Understanding of GD&T and lean manufacturing concepts.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards.
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer certification is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in Quality.
- Problem-solving skills, corrective action, and project management expertise.
- Knowledge of APQP and PPAP processes.
- Familiarity with inspection equipment and techniques, engineering drawing standards.
- Process knowledge in machining, forming, welding, fabrication, plastics, castings, electro-mechanical assembly, test, and packaging.
- Bachelor's degree in quality, engineering, or manufacturing.
- Experience with lean manufacturing concepts in a low volume, high mix environment, such as 5-S, Kanban, one-piece flow, and error-proofing.
- Experience with increasing responsibilities over time.
