This position is responsible for technical leadership of the Low Voltage and Medium Voltage Power Circuit Breaker product lines by developing the engineering organization's capabilities and technical processes. The scope encompasses innovation and design strategy, new product development, and engineering process continuous improvement activities within the product engineering organization. A. Lead product lines with technology strategies for business growth. Identify objectives and create technology roadmaps to align with businesses strategies and respond to competitive market trends, IP landscape, and other industry developments. Identify, prioritize and execute new technology and product development projects for power circuit breakers. Lead innovation events and intellectual property capture. B. Lead design strategy for global technical teams in multiple product development projects following the PROLaunch new product development process. D. Capture deep, specialized product, tool and method subject-matter knowledge. Drive training and mentorship programs and track knowledge transfer through across the engineering organization. Develop and leverage a strategic network of corporate and global functional expert resources, and build depth of expertise in component design, applications, technology, and testing. E. Monitor and interpret standards and regulations and develop product line standards strategies. Promote PCD's solutions and technology through a proactive role in external forums. F. Initiate forward-looking collaboration with APAC and EMEA regions, to provide leadership in global power circuit breaker platform technology and designs. Provide cross-disciplinary team leadership and a technical point of contact for product line marketing, manufacturing, internal and external customers, suppliers, program management and engineering leadership. Apply knowledge of standards, regulations, manufacturing and cost constraints Develop product architectures, design concepts and timely technical solutions to ensure integrity of designs. Lead advanced analysis, design and technical problem-solving on cross-functional teams relating to new and existing products. Promote excellence in technical decision making by leading program technical and design reviews and approving technical work packages. C. Drive functional excellence in engineering by assessing and developing the organization's capabilities. Identify, prioritize, and lead high-impact engineering process improvement projects that drive transformative changes in engineering effectiveness. Develop and enhance engineering processes, methods, best practices and advanced tools, and drive accountability for their effective application. Foster a digital mindset through the use of computer modeling, statistical tools, and industry-leading digital tools and best practices. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution 10 years of experience in product design engineering 5 years of experience working in industrial power distribution products, systems or related product design 3 years of experience directly or indirectly leading engineering teams or technology strategy Bachelor of Science or Master's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution Knowledge of industrial circuit breaker products and standards Position Criteria: Developing, leading and collaborating with local and remote engineering and cross-functional resources Written & verbal business and technical communication and presentation skills.
