- Working with different types of projects ranging from distribution to transmission level voltages.
- Electrical Power Calculations.
- Interactions with Other Disciplines (Substation, Telecom, and Civil Structural, etc).
- Lead conceptual and detailed HV and MV Substation design for medium to large scale utilities/substations (including basic layout, electrical arrangement, one line, three line drawings, plan-section, grounding, AC and DC system drawings)
- Take complete ownership of each project, including management of technical design, staffing, schedule, and budget.
- Possess excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with the internal teams and clients to meet project objectives.
- Lead, mentor, and grow a diverse team of engineers, designers, and drafters.
- Develop and review project proposals, including scopes of work and cost estimates.
- Perform Quality Control reviews on medium to large substation projects
- Continually improve and maximize team quality and efficiency.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or other related degree
- Eight (8+) plus years of direct experience in substation design
- Registered Professional Engineer (P.E) license
- Master’s degree in related field
- Experience leading a project team
