Description of WorkThis is a temporary position and there are no leave or retirement benefits offered with this position. Exposure to an agency's culture, process, procedures, and potential learning opportunities can provide valuable experience to those who may seek permanent employment with the state.This temporary position is located in Wilson - Wilson County.Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $17.00 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application).This temporary position will be assigned to the Department of Health and Human Services. This position is located at 4761 Ward Blvd, Wilson, NC 27893. This is manual work involved in the upkeep of grounds, buildings, and equipment. Position performs a variety of physical labor tasks requiring some knowledge and experience in their particular work assignments. Work is performed with only general supervision in repetitive and routine assignments and may be closely supervised when assisting higher-level trades worker in performing more complex work. This position is considered essential. Applicants will be expected to be at work despite weather conditions, work over to complete a job or may be called in nights and/or weekends.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / CompetenciesNOTE: Qualified applicants must meet and CLEARLY reflect on their application training and experience and all knowledge, skills, abilities, and any experience or competencies specified in the posting and/or supplemental question(s) to be considered.   • Experience in cutting grass with both push and riding mowers.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of gasoline powered equipment such as string trimmers, concrete edgers, blowers, tractors, and electric carts.
  • Working knowledge in maintaining plant beds, setting out flowers, trees and bushes.
  • Experience in maintaining, cleaning and repairing grounds equipment and vehicles.
