
Qa/qc Engineer

- Monitor welding procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards (ASTM, ASME, AWS).
- Supervise testing agencies and maintain records to ensure that testing meets ASTM standards.
- Visually inspect welds and fusions on fittings and joints to verify adherence to company procedures.
- Perform internal quality inspections and participate with IOR (Inspector of Record) inspections.
- Participate in workplace inspections and verify materials meet contract specific requirements.
- Identify and address issues, including improper welding techniques, material defects, or insufficient weld penetration.
- Monitor and enforce Three-Level Inspection process. Conduct daily observations to ensure each level is implemented as designed. Document results.
- Ensure that all required work has been completed in compliance with approved submittals, contract documents, and contract requirements. Resolve differences and ensure rework is being corrected.
- Performs submittal reviews and approvals for compliance with subcontract documents.
- Schedule and conduct pre-installation conferences.
- Prepare Quality Management Plans for specialized projects.
- Participate in Contractor Quality Weekly Meetings.
- Manage and document weekly QC meetings with internal team and external quality representatives.
- Manage daily and weekly QC/QA reports to reinforce that activities are constructed in conformance with established standards.
- Maintain Employer Safety Procedures and Work Practices by refusing unsafe work, reporting all incidents, attending prestart and safety meetings, and advising employees on hazardous situations.
- Maintain working knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements and AIA guidelines as applicable to design and construction field.
- Complete other duties as needed or assigned in support of the successful completion of the project.
- B.S. in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Building Construction, Building Science, or Engineering Technology
- May consider non-degreed candidates depending on experience and certification
- 5+ years of experience in Construction Management related to Industrial Projects
- 4+ years of experience in MEP Engineering related to multiple Building Systems
- 2+ years of experience with Inspection Testing Plans from the foundation
- USACE Construction Quality Management Certification or equivalent
- Preferred – CWI Certification, ASNT II Certification, or ICC Certification
- Knowledge in Industrial Construction codes, including but not limited to: ASME B31.3, NFPA 70 (NEC), NFPA 54 (NFGC), and IBC Chapter 17.
- Experience utilizing Procore, Viewpoint, SharePoint, Microsoft Office, Smartsheet, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), Bluebeam, and/or BIM 360 Field
- Demonstrated experience interpreting and enforcing applicable codes, contract requirements, project drawings, and project specifications
- Demonstrated experience building and executing Inspection Test Plans
