Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Functional Homeroom Systems Engineering Manager 2 to lead the Staff Support Thread Lead / Staff Engineer teams within the Mission and Weapon System Engineering (MWSE) department of the Aerospace Vehicle and Systems Integration (AVSI) directorate. This position will be located in Roy, Utah.The selected candidate will clearly demonstrate strong leadership skills and will have a good track record as a motivated leader, an effective communicator, and problem solver who is able to develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The candidate will demonstrate a commitment to ethics and integrity, and the capability to innovate while challenging traditional ways of doing business. Demonstrated abilities to build diverse and inclusive teams with high levels of engagement, including mentoring and coaching, are a must. The candidate will have an ability to operate in a team environment and collaborate across the directorate business areas as required to accomplish team and department goals.This is a functional home room (FHR) manager position, involving both the overall functional oversight and management of a Systems Engineering group of up to 12 engineers, while maintaining a technical baseline of performance on program work. The candidate will spend ~20% of their time on functional/organizational support and ~80% of their time on a mix of technical program work from current/existing tasking, or potential future tasking. Functional management involves, but is not limited to, organizational administrative activities and helping employees’ performance and career development through guidance and training. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.   • Bachelor's Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) with 6 years of related experience
  • 1+ year experience leading a project and/or driving performance against schedule.
  • Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need.
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) from an accredited university with 6 years of experience, or 4 years of experience with a Master's degree.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience in a multi-disciplined environment.
  • Strong verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Solid understanding of the Systems Engineering and Integration and Test processes on the Sentinel Program .
  • 7+ years of leadership experience in a multi-disciplined environment.
  • 2+ years experience leading teams in a functional, programmatic or technical capacity.
  • Active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance, current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need.
Primary Level Salary Range: $135,100.00 - $202,700.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
