- Responsible for executing assigned human resources functions, which may include, but is not limited to recruiting, benefits, training, performance management, compensation, job descriptions, employee relations issues, policies, and procedures for employees throughout the United States.
- Develop, facilitate, and implement all phases of the recruitment process.
- Conduct and manage the employee onboarding process, coordinating with managers and other departments to ensure all steps in the process function smoothly.
- Explain company personnel policies, benefits, and procedures to employees and job applicants.
- Answer questions regarding performance management, eligibility, salaries, benefits, and employee relations.
- Manage benefits and administer various leave programs (ADA, FMLA, short-term, long-term, and personal, etc.)
- Guide managers and supervisors with employee performance and relations concerns.
- Conduct exit interviews and complete necessary paperwork.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations and company policies.
- Research special HR related projects, tasks, and assignments.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Work effectively as a team member with the HR staff, management, and employee groups.
- Cultivate and foster a customer service focused mindset with emphasis on efficiency and accuracy.
- At least three years managing all phases of the recruitment and hiring process required.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.
- PHR/SPHR and/or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
- Working in a power engineering environment preferred.
- Experience managing employees preferred.
- Knowledge of multi-state HR laws and requirements preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to read, comprehend, and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to hiring and recruitment.
- Ability to interact in an empathetic and non-judgmental manner with diverse populations.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proven ability to work with highly confidential information.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to bend, lift, stretch, and climb.
