Housing Resource Coordinator, Workforce Development and Refugee Services

- Coordinate with case management team to prioritize screening and follow up calls to new and existing clients, to schedule appointments and/or gather information/ documentation as needed, communicating and properly recording any relevant new client information/needs discovered back to the case management team.
- Meet individually with clients to understand housing needs, refer client to appropriate resources, and help complete rental applications.
- Review terms of leases with clients and provide guidance on tenants’ rights and responsibilities.
- Develop resources, educational materials, presentations, and partnerships related to finding an apartment, avoiding scams, tenant rights and responsibilities, rental assistance programs, etc. and make referrals as appropriate.
- Assess client eligibility for housing related financial support and make appropriate referrals for move-in/ arrears assistance, furniture assistance, interest-free loans, utility-assistance, etc supporting housing stability..
- Participate in administrative and staff meetings as requested.
- Provide all required information for weekly/monthly/quarterly/semester/annual reports to CAMBA management and/or to funders.
- May prepare appropriate marketing materials.
- May market and outreach to potential referral sources.
- May pre-screen client for eligibility and recommend the appropriate CAMBA service/program.
- May register clients for CAMBA's project/program.
- May conduct initial client intake and assessment of clients' situations and needs.
- May accompany CAMBA staff to client home visits.
- May travel to other CAMBA sites to complete assigned tasks.
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) and/or equivalent experience.
- Two (2) years of relevant experience in either; client service, case management, or home visits.
- Strong documentation skills, including the ability to accurately record client information and complete necessary paperwork.
- Bilingual English/Creole (Preferred)
- Bilingual English/Ukrainian (Preferred)
- Knowledge of and commitment to refugee services and workforce development.
- Familiarity with NYC housing and public assistance systems.
- Ability to establish partnerships with community organizations.
Status: Full-time (35 hours per week)
