We're looking for a Pump Technician/Mechanic that will inspect, diagnose, and perform major and minor repair work on pumps, valves, seals, motors and ancillary equipment related to our customers. Simple machining, prepping, sandblasting, and painting will be part of this scope. Additionally, assembly of pumps and mounting of pumps, motors, seals and gearboxes on new equipment builds. Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Teardown and inspect rotating equipment, providing recommend parts, labor and failure analysis if recognizable.
  • Repairs positive displacement pumps, centrifugal pumps, gear pumps, PC pumps, other styles of pumps and sanitary/non-sanitary valves according to OEM specifications with required parts.
  • Completes training programs provided by key suppliers to learn best practices in support of pumps, and valves. Keep certifications up to date per manufacture.
  • Troubleshoot equipment to determine cause of failure.
  • Assembles a variety of positive displacement pumps, centrifugal pumps, sanitary valves, mechanical seals as well as other related rotating equipment either in-house or in the field.
  • Maintains tools and clean workstation. Recommend new tooling per market need/demand.
  • Assists account managers with service-related needs and calls.
  • Keeps safety at the forefront of every job, internal and external.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Required Skills & Abilities:
  • Must be able to read and interpret work orders, drawings, IOM’s and specifications.
  • Experience working with rotating equipment required.
  • Pump knowledge preferred.
  • Willing and able to learn new equipment.
  • Acceptable driving record required according to company guidelines.
  • Forklift operation required.
  • Must be able to travel when needed (within WI, limited overnight travel)
  • Excellent ability to read and listen to assignments given in a variety of forms.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines with excellent attention to detail
  • Effectively address customer queries, and concerns and ensure they result in a positive experience for our clients
  • Planning and organizational skills necessary to coordinate workload around complex, multiple assignments; ability to complete work assignments within designated timeframes.
  • Demonstrates superior client service capabilities
Education and Experience Profile
  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • Field service experience preferred
  • Pump repair experience preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of mechanics with considerable knowledge of pumps and valves.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to complete various activities in the shop that may require hours of walking, sitting, standing, bending/stooping, crawling, balancing, crouching, lifting and carrying.
  • Must be able to lift to 75lbs occasionally.
  • Must have enough manual dexterity and stability as required for precision work.
  • Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced.
