Job Title: Maintenance Technician Job DescriptionThe Maintenance Technician will be an integral part of the powertrain team, working towards achieving key results and contributing to the company's goals. The role demands a strong knowledge of troubleshooting preventative maintenance and electrical systems. The technician will report to various supervisors and managers within the production organization and will be expected to be a proactive problem solver with a sound understanding of standard automotive OEM process equipment and related systems. The position requires the ability to perform under pressure, maintain dynamism, and practice effective teamwork.Responsibilities
  • Perform maintenance of process equipment in various shops.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on all types of production equipment.
  • Accurately document all preventive maintenance activities performed.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance planner to learn and utilize the CMMS system.
  • Troubleshoot and repair complex problems on production equipment.
  • Perform repair and/or replacement of defective parts.
  • Support installation of new equipment.
  • Fabricate parts for plant and/or production equipment.
  • Enforce and adhere to all safety rules and regulations.
  • Handle other responsibilities as needed.
Essential Skills
  • Electrical troubleshooting and maintenance technician experience.
  • Knowledge of electrical and mechanical testing and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with PLC systems, pneumatic and hydraulic control systems.
  • Experience with stick welding, TIG welding, and MIG welding.
  • Proficiency in using multimeters and other diagnostic tools.
  • Ability to troubleshoot robots and automated equipment.
  • Understanding of electro-mechanical systems including shafts, motors, and conveyor systems.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • At least 2 years of work experience in maintenance of manufacturing or industrial equipment.
  • A related degree with at least 6 months of relevant work experience.
  • Understanding of electrical control systems and PLC logic controls (Rockwell/Siemens/etc.).
  • Capability to walk 15,000+ steps a day and stand for extended periods.
  • Food & beverage industry background is advantageous.
  • Refrigeration school experience and mechanic schooling are desirable.
  • Skills in MIG, TIG, and stick welding and cutting are beneficial.
Work EnvironmentThe position is based in a large, highly automated automotive manufacturing environment. The maintenance team operates on A, B, C, and D shifts, working 40-48 hours per week, with a 4-day work week and 12-hour shifts. The facility operates 7 days a week, and the role requires wearing steel-toed boots on the manufacturing floor. Day shifts run from 5:00 AM to 5:30 PM, while night shifts are from 5:30 PM to 5:00 AM, both including a 30-minute lunch break.
