As a member of the engineering team, you will have the opportunity to design and build systems and features from the ground-up, have a big role to play in defining the direction of our product and mentor other engineers.The ideal candidate will have a product-oriented mindset with a passion for technology and customer satisfaction. This engineer will play a critical role in the company's success by ensuring that software development efforts are aligned with customer needs and contribute to the company's overall growth and profitability.   • Design, implement, and maintain frontend components that make up the Metropolis parking and mobility platform.
  • Lead the entire development lifecycle, from ideation and requirements through successful launch!
  • Be a role model and mentor to both senior and junior engineers, fostering best practices in UI frameworks and component libraries.
  • Collaborate with product managers and designers to model and understand real world problems.
  • Moderate technical discussions, evaluate new techniques, and ensure our platform is constantly evolving and improving.
  • Leverage best practices in automation testing and deployment to enable rapid iteration and launch of new features.
  • Help build a culture where bugs and mistakes in production are treated as opportunities to improve the platform.
Required Qualifications
  • MS or BS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience. Strong fundamental computer science skills.
  • 10+ years of software engineering experience. Advanced level knowledge of React and Typescript.
  • Experience with consuming RESTful APIs and iterating on them with backend engineers.
  • Proven track record of successfully designing and delivering large scale initiatives in high volume consumer facing applications.
  • Strong sense of system modeling and designing complex systems applicable to real world problems.
  • Deep understanding of Agile engineering processes that support the entire software development life cycle, including TDD/BDD, CI/CD and related build/test/deploy processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences.
  • Local to Santa Monica (Los Angeles), New York City, or Seattle areas

The anticipated base salary for this position is $220,000.00 to $250,000.00 annually. The actual base salary offered is determined by a number of variables, including, as appropriate, the applicant's qualifications for the position, years of relevant experience, distinctive skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location of residence and/or place of employment. Base salary is one component of Metropolis's total compensation package, which may also include access to or eligibility for healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a lucrative stock option plan, bonus plans and more.Metropolis values in-person collaboration to drive innovation, strengthen culture, and enhance the Member experience.
