Salary : $120-160K (DOE) plus uncapped bonusOur client, a Top 5 systems integrator for automation & controls systems with over 40 years of experience, is seeking an experienced Controls Engineer to design, configure, and implement Emerson DeltaV automation solutions, primarily for life sciences and other process manufacturing industries. This role involves delivering high-quality, regulatory-compliant systems from concept through commissioning, ensuring operational efficiency and adherence to industry standards.Key Responsibilities
- Develop, configure, and implement Emerson DeltaV control systems aligned with ISA-88 standards and customer specifications.
- Design system architecture, instrumentation specifications, and control strategies to optimize manufacturing operations.
- Configure DeltaV controllers, HMI, historian, and batch processes in compliance with GAMP 5, cGMP, and 21 CFR Part 11.
- Conduct Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).
- Provide on-site startup, commissioning, and troubleshooting support.
- Apply software and system development life cycle methodologies, including validation documentation.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure timely, on-budget project delivery.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical knowledge sharing.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
- 3-7 years of experience in automation and control system engineering with a strong focus on Emerson DeltaV.
- Experience in a biomed/life sciences manufacturing environment (pharma, med device)
- Proficiency in ISA-88 batch processing, DeltaV batch configuration, historian, alarm management, and advanced control strategies.
- Familiarity with automation protocols such as HART, Foundation Fieldbus, Profibus, Modbus TCP/IP, Ethernet/IP, OPC.
- Understanding of process control strategies, loop tuning, and industrial networking.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements including GAMP 5, cGMP, 21 CFR Part 11, and validation life cycles.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% for commissioning and on-site support.
- Experience with additional platforms (e.g., Rockwell Automation, Siemens PCS7, DCS/SCADA) and AutoCAD is a plus.
