- Network Design & Implementation: Plan, design, and implement network systems, including LANs, WANs, and VPNs, tailored to the organization's needs.
- Firewall Configuration and Management: Oversee the configuration, deployment, and maintenance of firewall systems, ensuring they are optimized for performance and security.
- Performance Monitoring: Regularly monitor network performance to identify and resolve issues, ensuring optimal system functionality.
- Security Management: Develop and enforce network security policies, manage firewalls, and implement measures to protect against unauthorized access and cyber threats.
- Troubleshooting & Support: Diagnose and resolve network-related problems promptly, providing technical support to users as needed.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed documentation of network and Firewall configurations, procedures, and incidents; prepare regular reports on network status and performance.
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of network and security engineers and technicians, providing guidance and fostering professional development.
- Vendor & Budget Management: Oversee relationships with vendors for network, security products and services; manage the network budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions.
- Cloud Platforms: Knowledge of cloud service providers like AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure, along with their networking services.
- Hardware: Experience with routers, switches, and firewalls from vendors like Cisco, Juniper, and Fortinet.
- Wi-Fi Knowledge: Having a expertise level hands on experience in the field of wireless designing, engineering and deployment.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field or with relevant years of experience.
- Certifications: Certifications such as CCNA Network, Security, CCNP are preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in networking technologies and protocols (e.g. BGP, OSPF, TCP/IP, DNS, FTP), experience with network security measures, and familiarity with network management tools.
- Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and the capacity to work both independently and as part of a team.
