- Lead large-scale teams in acquiring, orchestrating, and growing client and ecosystem relationships across lending as well as non-lending financial and operational needs
- Drive new business development and expansion of existing relationships - develop strategies to improve and grow loans, deposits, and broader banking services income
- Originate, advise on, and negotiate financing solutions for SVB Commercial Bank clients
- Develop strategies to improve and grow the balance sheet while managing risk
- Build and develop key relationships with internal partners, stakeholders, and externally with clients and industry experts
- Act as a thought partner and sector expert, participating in industry events as a speaker/influencer
- Navigate key initiatives and relationships within the Life Science ecosystem
- Differentiate the bank with key influencers in the market
- Lead multiple teams and managers with a focus on developing and coaching sales leaders
- Drive skills and career development for leadership
- Ensure the development and retention of top talent and leadership
- Position the platform for changing business conditions, new business models, and growth initiatives
- Stay conversant in macro sector trends (Drive and lead strategic discussions with clients and stakeholders about capital solutions and business goals
- Participate in industry events and maintain regular interaction with the investor community
- Oversee the P&L for the team's portfolio
- Ensure controls are in place to manage and mitigate emerging risks
- Demonstrate a risk management mindset across the team
- Responsible for expense management and operating decisions such as staffing and investment ROI
Underwriting & Commercial Banking cross selling: Excellent Relationship Management and Credit skills to manage diverse team and full suite of portfolio needs; proven ability to ask strategic questions that get at the core of the issue or making a complicated situation understandable. Will focus on both lending and non-lending products and services.Sector expertise: Experienced internal and external business leader; proven ability to maintain an extensive network of business relationships, including the executive management of clients, prospects, referral sources, and other influential relationships in market.Portfolio Management: Adept at building, managing, and scaling a business.QualificationsBachelor’s Degree and 10 years of experience in OR High School Diploma or GED and 14 years of experience in Commercial banking, Credit Underwriting or Analysis, or Relationship Management.Preferred Qualifications:
