Follow us on Twitter at @BWXTech and learn more at .BWXT is currently seeking a health physics Intern for the Summer of 2026.The health physics engineer intern would be mentored (learning) to perform various activities to ensure plant operations comply with requirements to prevent a criticality accident. These include learning the basics of:
  • Review and update radiation protection technical work records.
  • Develop requirements for radiation work permits.
  • Maintain personnel radiation exposure records.
  • Participate in audits of radiologically controlled areas.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Must be currently enrolled in a B.S. or MS degree in engineering /technical/science from an ABET accredited institution.
  • Health physics related coursework (biology, physics) is preferred.
  • Must be a US Citizen with no dual citizenship.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.
