At Smith+Nephew we design and manufacture technology that takes the limits off living.Reporting to the Senior Director of Global Marketing, this role has global marketing responsibility for developing and executing on our overall platform and robotics hardware solution value proposition, aligned to the robotics business strategy, and incorporating both implants & enabling technology value propositions.The Senior Global Product Manager is responsible for developing and ensuring execution of all aspects of a competitive robotic solution value proposition, that would allow us to address the needs of today's and tomorrow's customers – including patient, surgeon, and procurement needs.As part of this role, the Sr. Global Product Manager will hold primary responsibility for the design and development of a Robotics solution on the next generation handheld orthopedic surgical platform.This role will involve close collaboration with our enabling technology teams to ensure aligned strategies and value proposition for the orthopedic business. In addition to the above, this role will be responsible for working with the Global Innovation Councils and associated Global KOLs/KELs, to develop and execute a robotic business strategy.The Senior Global Product manager role will be responsible for working with the regions to raise awareness on our current and future platform solution value proposition through marketing communications, tradeshow promotions, multi-channel campaigns with an emphasis on digital marketing.In addition, this role will be responsible for delivering on the portfolio mix shifts and product exit strategies, which includes maintaining our current solutions in market until the new robotic solution is ready for launch in key markets.The Senior Global Product Manager will be the marketing leader developing platform solution programs to support the worldwide S&N commercial organization, including the development of programs to drive sales market/customer readiness and achieve revenue targets for the overall robotics business.What will you be doing?Development of product development strategy and go to market tactics for S+N robotics and technology-enabled robotics portfolio.Definition of scope and schedule with cross functional partners to deliver a market winning product for Robotic applications.With assistance from the respective marketing and R&D teams, develop business cases and global growth initiatives.Partner with business, development, and PMO teams to ensure key milestones are met throughout the development projects, including milestones, resources, and budgets.Establish market and product requirements for products, including product positioning, value proposition, business models and pricing.Lead interactions with key opinion leaders, including focus groups, usability studies, cadaver labs, and initial clinical cases related to the products developed under the partnership.In close collaboration with the product, medical education, sales, marketing, regulatory affairs, and clinical teams, establish and continuously improve the syllabus, content, delivery model, and teaching faculty to deliver world class training programs for both internal and external audiences.Collaboration and partnership with the Global orthopedic implant teams to drive robotically-enabled procedural solutions for the global markets.What will you need to be successful?Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a business, marketing or engineering discipline.Masters in related field or MBA desired.Minimum 5 years of professional product management, marketing or engineering experience is requiredProduct management, systems/biomedical engineering within the orthopaedic industryProven track record to effectively position, message, and negotiate product requirements with the engineering team.Experience in the development of business cases, return on investment and key performance indicators for new productsApproximately 30-50%; some international travel will be requiredYou Unlimited.We believe in creating the greatest good for society.
